Hey everyone, got my system measured today it got 138.5 dB. I was just wonderign how good is that?? What did other people rate? I was really pissed off I went today to comete in a little compition, I had to go late cause i worked. They said they were takeing registrations till 4:30 got there at about 3ish and they were starting to pack up, didn't even have time to turn my amp up or anything! the gain was only about half way with the boost at +2 dB.

how many subs??? i hit 140 with my type r 15....and took second place, depending on how many subs, it could be good or bad....

well im 16 and i had my first comp bout a month ago and i hit 139.7db's with 700 rms total to 2 12" JBL's. The subs only cost me 120 and the amp only cost me 160. its almost all install man.

So just think, your TWICE as loud as anyone that scored a 135!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I just read the news about Nathan Munson. Hit 169.8 with one 10" sub the other day. Take a look at the car though, I think it's a little bit of a generic score. I've spoken to many people about it who think that you should have to compete with a car, not something that's just "car-like," lol.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif If your going to do all that then why bother starting with a real car, just stick everything in a box, then put it all in a bigger box to seal the sound in, then put wheels on it so you can roll it to the comp. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif Not getting too far into it or anything, just had to get it out to see what other's thought.

personally, i think that is one helluva score for one ten and 5000 watts

for you who didn't know he used 2 DEI VIPER 2500Ds and a DD 9510

tell me that isnt impressive

although

i think the extreme class is stupid by itself

you should see who has the loudest daily driver... heh

thats what its all about:D

Exactly, that's what its all about. If you can't drive it down Woodward Ave, it ain't car audio.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

10 decibels is twice as intensive as the step below it.

3 db is the gain you get from either doubling the power, or doubling the cone area, in a perfect world without power compression or any other negative effects.

Originally posted by wesleysh What does "twice as intensive" mean? What would I experience if I made my system 3 dB louder vs. 10 dB louder?
10 dB is in effect twice the volume. 3dB will be readily audible though.
