13.9 or 15 volts?

I'm doing a build for a buddy with two 12 inch Orion HCCA black coil series subs, a Skar Audio 4500.1 amp, 2 runs of knukonceptz 0 gauge from red top battery to 2 large yellow tops in the trunk. He had a 320 amp custom alternator built by excessive amperage that I installed last night. Only problem Is the alternator is charging at 13.9. I found out the voltage in the car is regulated by the ECU.

I called EA up and he said he would put a regulator in the alternator for free so it could run about 15 volts. Just wondering if he would benefit from the 1.1 volts. Any suggestions? I know 1 volt could prob yield a good 400 watts or more I'm assuming.

You will get a few hundred watts more but the best part is better efficency.

Yea you won't gain an incredible amount of power, but more voltage makes the amp much more efficient as NoLoud4U stated.

I run between 14.8 and 15.2. Just don't run 12v batteries too much higher. You'll be good with 15
