Hi

I have a 12w7. I was wondering which would be the better pick. I am thinking between the JL 1000/1 for around $650 shipped or the Diamond 1500.1 for around $500 shipped.

I have around $1200 to spend for the amp, wiring, headunit, and installation, so I could really if I want buy the JL since the headunit I want is about $330.

Thanks and any suggestions would be appreciated.

that diamond isn't going to power a 12w7.

you'd be lucky to get 500 watts //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

I agree and have worked with JL for many years - i recomend the 1000/1 - you will get your 1000watts RMS at 12VDC and 3ohms. I like JL amps because they are rated with low actual voltage - not on a bench with 14.4V supplying a 2 ohm for 1ms at max volume to get a spike of 2000Watts - ha ha - its all about RMS and clean power output in a real car application and in the real world

JL designed that amp around the W7,with its 3 ohm load deal being the 1000/1

does 1000w@1-4 ohms

But at 1 ohm the Diamond will put out up to 1900W@14.4v

I dont know what it does at 2ohm but I can garentee its plenty more than

the manual says
