a nice properly built/tuned ported box is the way to go with those. I used to run those on a Autotek 1400.1..it pounded and sounded great

I ran a single ported box built to JL specs and it sounded great.

I think that it was 1.5@33Hz per woofer. It may have been to cleanest sounding sub I have ever heard.
