12w6v2 or 13w6v2?

So I just sold my 10w6v2's, looking to upgrade to a 12w6v2 or a 13w6v2, just curious, what would the differences be between the three?

I'm looking to get just 1 in a sealed box.

The reason I got rid of the 10's is because they weren't as boomy and deep as I would like, but at the same time they were incredibly responsive, will I lose a lot of that responsiveness if I upgrade to a 13?

Any feedback on these?

You migh barely notice any difference from a 10w6v2 to a 12w6v2, get a 13w6v2 in a sealed enclosure to JL specs...

should have kept the 10"s....its probably your install/box that was needing changed

it was taking up too much trunk space unfortunately, And I didn't want to risk it spending all of the money to get a custom box for them and not liking it, so I figured I might as well start with something that will probably go a little lower and sound boomier.

well you are not going to get boomier in a sealed box...you want boomy. go ported or you'll need a very large sealed box

I won't get boomier going from 10" to 13" even if the 13 is sealed? I would assume there would be a deeper sound then the 10's
most people assume the same...not necessarily true. The box is going to be a huge factor in the sound. Ported is going to give you the boomier....sealed are tight and responsive generally speaking.

Also, another factor is I was powering both of the 10's with a singl 500/1, so now all of the power is going to be going into just 1 sub, so I think I might notice a huge difference whether I install sealed or ported.

i say no...i still think the 10"s were just in the wrong box...i had a pair of those 10"s and they performed awesome in a ported box.

And you coulda put a 1000/1 on 2 tens

The 12 will sound about the same as the 10s as far as output. The 10s would have less distortion. The 13 should be a decent bit louder. It will also probably want a bigger box than you had the 10s in. You're not going to be making up space with the switch and get an improvement in sound at the same time with that line of subs.

thanks for your feedback guys, I'm taking everything into consideration, still deciding on what I want to do, so if anybody has anymore feedback on this, feel free to share, thanks.

I'm definitely keeping the 500/1, I'm not going to get a new amp... so with that into consideration, I doubt it can power a Fi Q.

Sure will. With the amount of power that he's running, the Q probably won't be as loud.

It won't be as loud compared to what? Will it still sound pretty good? how does hte Fi Q compare to the w6v2 in terms of quality and spl?
