People dont seem to realize what all goes into making a sub, JL has teams of engineers working everyday for them to design amazing subs, thats not to say RE can't make a sub that tops what JL can do, but just think about it, if JL wanted a sub in their lineup that did the xmax in that clip, they could have it in production by next week.

Thats very true and not what I am arguing, the poster I quoted made it sound like this sub is some god of all subs, all I am saying is from what we know, this sub could be somewhat of a showpiece and not a sub for your everyday user, alot like the crazy limited production subs companies like MTX have come out with. You guys do great work at RE no doubt, but I'm trying ot level out this forum bias that seems to think these internet brands have some god-like mad scientist-engineer that comes up with amazing designs that companies like JL cant touch. JL is a monster in the car audio world, if they ever felt a company like RE or Adire was a threat, you can bet they would come out with something new to crush them, perhaps not even a better sub, but they would, with whatever crack-marketting, come off as the best out there once again.

I agreed with you right up until you said JL could have one in production next week. Whether this sub will out do the W7 remains to be seen as its not released yet, but RE is calling it their sub to end the W7 wars. RE being the guys that they are (know what they are doing), Im betting they will have a product that beats out the W7 pretty handily in its niche (SQL). I called RE last week to order some stuff, and asked about the model number of the new sub. Unless Mark at RE was lying to me, he said he had no knowledge of replacing the current XXX with this new sub, or changing the current XXX's model number to something else and making the new one a XXX. Maybe there's something secret going on here, and Mark didnt know, or wouldn't tell me, but I really dont see why it would be so secret to keep something as meaningless as the model number a secret. I suspect they simply haven't decided yet.

Im pretty sure it will be called the XMX, and I think it will be b/w the XXX and MT, not actually replace the XXX. It should even carry a warranty with it also, which is a plus in my book any time. Ill wait on it.
