12" that kills the lowest notes ported

If you wanna suggest a Pioneer sub for the lows, I'd say that the step under those, the 3000spl's would fit the bill. They get surprisingly loud and very low on little power. They're cheap too. Just get a Mach5 IXL and be done with it. That should be all the low end anybody would need
Word, I have the older Pioneer w250-spls and they sound fantastic on the lows and they are the 10" version.

dont need type x alpines the type r's can sound just as good ive heard a type x and type r 12 side by side in sealed and ported boxes that meet the bets spec for the sub and the type x was very hard to tell apart form the typer at alot less $$.

type x tho can take more power so all depends on what kinda power your going to run

Glad your choice turned out well bro.

The Mach was the 1st that came to mind until I read that you got the Type X already lol.

I love subs that destroy lows. Got a chance to hear this one dude's pair of 12" Q's a couple months ago on a SAZ3k. Crushed the lows! I was inside my apt when he rolled up and it sounded like a helicopter was landing on the porch, it got that low.

Nonetheless, sounded very crisp and clear and didn't drown the frontstage.

type x installed...kills the lows!!!!! needs a little more power though

Just for reference, that will be changing soon. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

OP, glad you chose a good product. As I understand the Type X is very good, although I've never heard one.

Good luck!

Mark

How low can you go? With my box tuned to 26.5hz........... I get low. I cant hear it but gawd dayum I can feel it all around me and hear chit rattling and clinging around. Thats low. Love it!

I love how people like to talk about how a sub can't murder the lows just because it has the ability of getting insanely loud. All this without having first hand experience with the product...

I've owned both the original and current Pioneer SPL subs, and let me say that it gets extremely low & loud while staying very musical.

The JBL p1224's sound great on the lows. I've got 2 in a box tuned to 25hz and they sound great until you get to the subsonic notes. But I haven't heard any others to compare it with, so don't give me too much shit if they turn out to be crap compared to a FI BTL or a type x. But the p1224's are cheaper than those 2, so if money's an issue...these are good.

Shoulda went with the ID Max. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

It's a lot more efficient than the X. Out of all subs I've used the Max is one of the best ported, especially on low power. I'm not sure why you didn't like it in a ported box. I will say it likes a bigger box. Maybe you had it in too small of a box. I dunno. In my personal use I found the the Max plays lower louder than an X. It could just be me. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif IIRC my box was 2.8@28hz.
