looking at possibly 2 SS rl-p's. for those one you that have them do you think they can take 800 watts daily? i know they are conservatively rated at 500 each. let me hear the opinions. the best part is that these are only $220 each direct from sound splinter

they work well with 700-800 watts. they can handle 1000 daily if you are careful, but 700-800 is where they work best. nice overall sql sub

Yes they can handle that much power..

I plan to hook mine up to my MD-2 this weekend and see how they sound..

But that might be a TAD too much, we will see..

feeding mine roughly 1k watt. just be careful with the tuning and you shouldn't run into any issues.

my rl-p's are seeing 500W a piece...it's possible that they might have an md2d feeding them in the near future...

i tested out my friend's single sealed rl-p though, in my maxima, off 500W, and it WANGED...so more power doesn't seem all that necessary to me

Good to hear that. I plan on running my 15 RLP Sealed. I was thinking about puttin a KX1200.1 on it but now that I hear that they really dont need that much power I was thinking of some other amp that will do about 800-1000 watts @ 1 ohm and spend the same amount. if i ever got a 15" rl-p, i don't think i'd ever run more than 1kW to it either...
