Ok guys Im no expert but I do have the subs to test. I used my VFL 150.1 for the power and both subs are Dual 2ohm.. The Box wasnt built by me so I dont know the exact specs but I do know it is 2.98 CuFt with port and sub displacement added in. So total the box is 5 Cuft total. OK so here is what I heard and Felt

DP... Great sub gets Low and dirty, Sounds pretty **** good with all types of music. With the power I was running I started to smell it after 5-8 minutes of hard play.

HDC3... WOW. The sound quality isnt as good as the DP but it does get loud. It shook my bones...LOL It took the power for 15minutes straight and never smelt it or did it even get warm. Takes the power better then the DP... The AQ wanted more power!!!.

So i guess if you want SQL and SPL the DP is a lil better but for all out Teeth shaking vison blurring bass the AQ hands down.

Remember im no pro and have no numbers to back this up . This is just what I heard.. The amp was untouched during the test so both had the same excact settings.

NOTE* The enclosure was built for the DP so this says alot for the HDC3.. Please no bashing guys its been a long day.

Put the AQ in a box that is properly sized and tuned, and it will sound much better than it does in the 2.98 cu. ft. box. Chances are it will be louder as well.

IA DP was a brand new sub when you got it? Probalby just the glue burning off is what you smelled, more than likely, because I dont see you reaching any kinds of limits of the DP with the 1600 or so out of that 150.1, unless you're playing under tuning...

Thanks Man. Listen I had both of these subs for sale and people where asking which sounded better and which was louder. So i took 2 hours out of my day switching them and playing them so i could post a answer. This is what I heard when I tested them.. If I had the right equipment I would of posted numbers. What size box do you guys recommend for the HDC3?
