10L7 power handling

im thinking of buying 1 L710, but my amp puts out 725 @ 2 ohms (underrated btw) so is 725-800rms too much for 1 L710 in it's rec. ported box?? Thanks in advance!!

It will be fine, and it wont see anywhere near that power anyways seeing as its a 3 ohm driver..

I didn't know L7's made 3ohm drivers. Did you mis-read and thought he said W7?

Im not a big kicker fan, but for a while I had a couple of L7's and I kinda dug em. They take exactly about what they are rated at before they get stinky, so its best not to push your luck with them in a vented enclosure. However, if you're going to do the sealed thing, it will take around 10% more power right off the bat naturally because of the suspension characteristics of a sealed alignment before you're in the danger zone. You didnt mention weather you were going to use it sealed or vented, so I figure I should mention that at least.

since the orion is a little under rated would I be better running a dvc 2 ohm sub @ 4 ohms (425 under rated watts)??

no.. The 10 l7 will be fine. go ahead and pick up the d4 model.

k, sounds good. I had a buddy that ran 1 L710 off an audiobahn amp (rated at 800) but they're a little overrated, so i guess we'll see

You should be fine. I ran a 8 off of 500w for over a year with no problems.
