so i was talking with this guy about my system and when i told him i was hitting somewhere over 145 he all of a sudden got all serious and was like so you have those subs that hit the killer 10 hz. and i was like no if you play a sub on that low of a hz you will fry it. and he started to tell me that your body runs off something with 10 hz and if you play 10 hz it can really screw with your body. as in like give you a heart attach or what not. i was just wondering if someone had heard anything about this?

yeah but bass i love you is already has its bass track recorded at like 0dbs and is rough song on woofers... most other songs arent like that
and while yes it is very possible to dmg them from playing that low... its not impossible either

Correct. There are a few songs that do get quite low and not recorded like Bass I Love You. TI has a song, forgot what it's called, but it gets very low. P Diddy has one called Diddy Rock and it gets low at about 2:03 when Twista starts rapping. Good beat on the Diddy song too

well i dont listen to rap so those low notes arent usally a problem for me lol

but it is rare, i think some classical instruments get that low too like a pipe organ or at least has harmonics of it

Actually, a 145 at that low of a frequency would move some serious air and create a LOT of pressure.

The mythbusters did what, a 161 @ 16 hz? That car was annihilated.

Would 10 hz kill you? Not a chance. Especially at those db levels.

Now if we are talking about 160+ dB's at 10 hz, that has the potential to mess some stuff up. Mainly making your heart beat irregularly or collapsing a lung.
