(1) Audioque 18 HDC3 vs (2) Mach 5 XL 18s"

As much as I dont like these kind of threads, I though about it and remembered Ive never done one. Im honestly stuck between the two. I have a temp setup I just got today but thats going in the HT setup soon.

Im looking for a setup with crushing lows, but would excel all the way around. Previous setup was (1) SS RL-p 15" in 4 net @ 28hz and sounded amazing. Before that, (4) AA Assassin 12s sealed in 1.2 net each. Sounded good as well, but the SS was louder and lower with less power, (ZX750.1 on the SS, Orion 1200d on the AAs)

Mach 5s would be in 9.2 net sealed, while the Audioque would be in 6 net ported tuned to 36hz. Power would come from either a Kicker 2500 or a Viper 2500.1 whichever I can get the deal on. Its going to be a few months, thank to my car insurance company, but just wanted to get some feedback. Thanks.

These are two different drivers. One meant for just output and the other meant for clarity with decent output. If you want a mixture of both, it seems like the pair of IXL's would be the best choice. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

IXL's all the way. They will murder the lows better than the HDC3 and more cone area so they should get louder. also, gauging from your past setups, you like SQ as well, which the IXLs excel at.

Very true Denim, they are very much different drivers. However, pricewise not a huge difference thats why I made the thread. The Mach 5s have been on my mind for quite sometime though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Thats very true, I enjoy output, just not all the time. Pefer a degree of SQ, or at least as much as im going to get with two 18s and 2400 watts lol.

IXL's FTMFW!!!

this is not me here

I think so too, plus no one really uses them. I always wanted to do 2 18s sealed, even back in the day just for something different. I saw that vid too, he wasnt even pushing them with there RMS, something like 1/2 of it.

Guess the people have spoken, and my choice is clear, thanks guys!
