i want to make a new ported box for my sub. it's a treo ssi 10. they want 20 square inches or port area and a 1.75 cu ft box after displacement of the sub and port. the box i wanna build will be 14" high x 23.25" wide and 15" deep. this will give the right size after the port and woofer displacement. everything seems perfect to me but was just wondering if the port being so tall but so narrow will cause a problem. it just seems easiest to me if i do a slot port to just make it the same height as the box (obviously minus the .75" for the wood thickness) thus being 12.5". then i can just make the top and bottom on the box be the top and bottom on the port. i plan to do this durring this comming week or next weekend, but i'll take any advice i can get. thanks in advance, Jason.

i'm still kinda new to the ported box thing. i have a ported box right now that i built but it's not the size and port size that treo wants it in. the problem i'm having is that the sub seems to bottom out and seems to be at it's limits but i'm only pushing about 400-500 watts into it. the say it can handle 750, so i'm guessing it's the box's fault. my port area right now is only 12.5" (4 inch round port) and the box itself is about .3 cubic feet bigger than they say to put it in. so i'm guessing thats causing the problem. the sub gets pretty loud and sounds good up until a point.
