I smell a pile BS, and it has greed sized peanuts in it.

I think they are going to lose their ***. A price hike of 200 on a sub that was already out (the 12), and delayed the release of the 15/18 till after the hike? Thats more than making money "family" man.

A: More money to the dealer and customer = low sales.

B: Less money to the dealer and customrer = high sales.

I tend to believe that the B will generate more revenue for many reasons. Mainly the fact that high sales equals more subs on the streets, therefore more exposure, therefore more sales. Had the prices remained the same, and the XXX's the same, i could have sold the fVck out of them. Now? After the hike? We'll be lucky to get our buyin back any time soon.

Love the sub. Absolutely hate the price. So do others. For the recod. We all hack on JL for the price of it. Well i got news for ya, the dealer on the RE lines is aweful close to the MSRP of the JL lines. So if JL pricing is frikken retarded, wtf do you call RE pricing? Just curious?

How about we leave it as:

RE is pricey, no doubt. BUT noone HAS to buy them- last I checked, there are plenty of other companies that make subwoofers.

To the original poster, it depends on what you mean by "worth it". Is it going to be a good sub? Yeah.

How much power do you have available?

For my money, Id go with the pair at the lower price though.

If you have the cash laying around. I definitely go for it. Price is relative to what you make.

I might run 2 myself, it depends on who can get the d1's out the door faster. I was hoping RE would do d4's but apparently not. I have the cash, just cant seem to get a sub built from Treo or RE in a timely fashion. Been waiting on both companies for 4 GD months. First build wins, i have an install to finish.

The wow factor is set to high for this sub for sure.

I think 2 inverted, or even one for that matter would look sick. Especially in a SUV.

IIRC the dealer pricing stayed the same so i dont see how that is an issue. its the fact that they are quoting people MSRP (i still dont know why people dont grasp this idea) over the phone is what is getting people all fired up. They are focusing more on DEALERS than DIRECT. thats pretty much what happened.

Pretty much the biggest point that everyone is over-looking.

It'll be hard for them to grow if they don't try to push product to their dealers...

Wrong, and friend to friend we'll discuss it in depth one day.

We got whole new sheets, and unless im going blind, or its one big typo from top to bottom, we took a very big hit on "marketability". Basically what once was a line we could sell and make a buck went to a line we, at the moment look to be having to struggle to move.

You will pay more than 650 for a 15, i assure you, and less than 1699 if your dealer will work with you.

and thats what has everyone ticked 650 for one sub is abit much when they first came out they where cheaper thats why peeps are buying the old ones up. that and recones have sky rocketed too.
