I have been running my 2004 12" RE XXX at 2 ohms for 3 years now powered with a PG Ti Elite 800.1.

I love the way it sounds, but the PG is a class A/B and just getting too **** hot. I get thermal protection cutoffs on hot days. Plus I know the XXX can take more power than 800 watts RMS.

Does anyone know how much power the 2004 XXX's can handle in a daily situation? (safely please...)

I'm feeding mine 2k. And I fucked it up lol. But I believe its just because I jerry rigged the parts back into the motor after I pulled em out to reattach the basket. I have a new recone on the way. Most people will say you can push it past the 1600w RMS rating.

The upside to that annoying issue is that it is working properly and shutting down when it gets too hot rather than burning up. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

A temporarily unusable amp > a permanently unusable amp 8 days a week. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

More than 800w?

Way more than 800w.
