the a$$ wipes at honda found it nessesary to include all the A/C controls along with the factory stereo (all in the same unit). Sound Advice (Tweeters) gave me two options.

1) install the new H/U in the area below the factory stereo or...

2) for a clean look, install a $250 replacement DIN that has all the buttons/controls for the A/C and a space for the new H/U.

my question is...where do i look for this replacement DIN online for a cheaper price?

this might be a stretch, especially with that price, but the local Car Toys sells EVERY kit for 17.xx

I was working at bestbuy and w/ my discount I could get the kit for a 98 escort for 50 dollars. walked into cartoys and bought it for 17. reason being is they average the prices of all their kits together.

give it a shot. doubt it 'll work, but who konws.

I work at Circuit City, and they are probably getting that kit through Metra. We just go our new/update catalog in not too long ago and I noticed the 03-05 Accord Kit. I did not see OUR price on it, but I'd try ordering directly through Metra...prolly get it for real cheap...or possibly crutchfield.

here... just order the **** thing... its 29.99... and dont

disrespect honda... they make a fine fvcking automobile...

my "lazy ass" just wanted to get a little direction from the good people on this forum, that's what it's here for goofy! as far as "disrespecting honda" you took it completely out of context, i was simply stating the they purposly make it dificult to install an aftermarket stereo...remember, i just bought their product off the showroom so i have to have some respect for them little bastards. thank you for your responses.

Get the kit from Circuit City it was 29.99 and came with the wiring harness. It'll go below the normal radio and A/C and all that but it's more of a stealth install especially if you have a removable face plate. From the outside it'll look like a factory radio unless you look down but if the face plate is removed its hard to tell that an aftermarket radio is installed. I have a 04 Honda Accord btw. If this is a show car only then you wont like this option but if your trying to deter thieves it'll help.

is the circuit city wire harness T'd off so that you can still have the

full display on the factory HU?

tOs are for girls.

the direct replacement kit forces you to remove your factory unit

and replace it with ugly plastic... and if you have dual climate zones

you are about to only have single climate zones...

why would anyone want their car to look stock and have a stealthy

HU nicely tucked below... oh yeah... and retain all the factory controls...

silly me.

The Circuit City kit worked fine with me and my Accord but the crutchfield kit might be better. I only suggested circuit city because it was a reasonable price and theres no waiting for shipping you get it right then in there. It wasn't like all their other crap they charge way too much for. I like the stealth look because I really don't want people walking past and seeing my headunit (I dont have tinted windows). I don't use the grilles that came with my speakers and I have the factory grilles over them again for the stealth factor. If it looks like a factory system in a car people are less likely to look for car audio stuff especially if I turn down the volume long before I park.

Random side fact to g30ffr3y- I was born in Buffalo at Buff General and lived in Niagara Falls for 5 years.

Based on the age of your system, it may be a good idea to look for a new aftermarket unit.
