Hey guys I am new to this forum and hopefully I am not breaking any rules by even mentioning bose stereos because other forums do not think highly of them. My situation is this: I have a 2001 pathfinder with bose stereo in it. I get aggravated with the poor volume level and distortion with the bose setup. Also my little brother will give me his Kicker comp 12" subwoofer. From what I understand you cannot change out the speakers and still use the stock stereo. Is it possible to change the head unit only and keep the stock speakers? I would definitely be upgrading the speakers too but I wouldn't have all the money to do it all at once. Also if anyone knows, Where can I find schematics and/or data sheets for the bose stereo in my car? and if anyone knows of a place I can go to get more knowledge on my stereo. Thanks in advance for any help you guys can give me. Also feel free to get as technical as possible with your responses.
