Hey fellas, just wondering if anyone has ever installed components in a 03 (7th generation) civic and if anyone knows the mounting depths....

I know this is the sub forum, but no one on ecoustics knows, i cannot find it anywhere on google, and no one on the civic forums seems to know jack about putting a new front stage in a civic. Any help would be much appreciated!

I'd go out an measure but it's a half hour job takin off the door panel....its weeeeird

Also, Could ya give me some input on the system i'm puttin together for my brother: (Aiming for low budget sq)

SI BM 12

Kicker ZX400.1

Kicker ZXseries 2 channel depending on comps chosen

DLS RS6 or 6.5" Infinity Reference Comps (I THINK that we can fit a 2 1/8" driver with a 1/2" spacer but any bigger of a spacer we'd have to cut the door panel)

i have an 05 civic and honestly i dont know the exact mounting depth as ive never actually installed in the doors. i broke down and bought the kick panels because i was concerned about some water that was coming in the door panel.

i do know that when i bought the car it had polk mm6 comps in it and the mid depth was 3-1/16. it had a half inch spacer but the window still hit the magnet when you rolled it down more than 3/4 way.

my girlfriend has Alpine Type R with a 1/2 spacer and it clears with no problems.

heres a link to another guy on this forum who did an install on his 7th gen civic (sundownz) hope this helps any. http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=9924

if you need any tips or tricks on how to get the door panel off quicker i can do it in about 5 min.

i got 7 inch woofers in my doors, had to cut a little metal away so the huge magnets would fit, my L18rnx speakers have 3.14 mounting depth, so i had to use 3 mounting rings, 2 rings are 1/2" mdf, one is 1/4" mdf, so a total of 1.25 inches of mounting rings, subtract 1.25 frm 3.14 and drum roll please.....1.89 inches, anyways i am certain with i.9 inches you wont have to worry about the window hitting the magnet when its rolled down, you might even be able to go a little larger, but 1.25 inches worth of mounting rings is the max if you want to be able to get your door panel back on the door, hope this helps

I blocked up my window with a piece of wood //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif It goes about 80 - 85% of the way down still, not a big issue. But, this way I don't have to worry about mounting depth at all. The window "stop" just works on over-current as far as I can tell... so it shuts off when it hits the wood just like it does when it hits the stop from the factory.
