18" sub motor & basket

Im new to this Car Audio stuff so first of all i have a question. If i buy a motor and basket for a 18" sub what all would i have to do to compete it? I've been told to just send to PSI and they will re-cone and finish it? But besides that i am really looking for some bad*** motors and baskets...
