I sent emails and pictures to Part-Express, Madisound, and Speaker City asking if they could recommend some speakers for this sub-woofer box. Madisound replied with a pair of Morel MW144. Wow......for there size 5" these they appear to be quite impressive. Like I said previously, I'm not a...
Awhile ago I sent an email to Hertz asking for the location of Hertz dealer in CA, NV, CO, UT, AZ, NM....Thy never replied. Then I called and left a message. I never received a phone call either. I just moved onto my other speaker choice.
Ah ha....judging from you reply I'm guessing you understand that this simple request is not so simple. I've been to Parts-Express, MadiSound and now Speaker City. The Dayton Audio Da135-8 speakers I ordered from Parts-Express will be going back tomorrow. They say 5 1/4 but the screw holes are...
I did that. BSW has a very nice replacement setup for the M Roadster. Their Stage1 speaker package was around 300.00.....I think. Not only very reasonably priced but you could add the 2.5" speakers that are located behind the seats for another 100.
However, Stage 1 did not include their sub...
Well it looks like it would be 2.5D, 5"W and 10 1/4"L...........does this help? Pictures 9, 10, 11. Thanks for the link to winISD.....still don't know what it's for or how to use it. I'm guessing all those numbers I see listed with speakers have something to do with how the speaker performs...
To deep...they are 3 1/8. As I stated I cannot be more than 65mm or 2 1/2" deep. I may have a little wiggle room as the box in the link does screw together. I may be able to ad a bit of insulation to take up the space created by the speaker being to deep.
I'll provide you with any pictures to scale you need. Do you need the internal h, w, d? If so, I'll include that new a pic with the others I've already put up on the link. I don't know what winISD is.
I have the following already installed:
Kenwood KDC-x994
Boston Acoustics SR60
Alpine PDX 4.150
Sirius Satellite Radio
iPod/flashdrive
Subwoofer.....That's' what this thread is about.
I have a 1999 BMW M Roadster. The M Roadster came with the upgraded audio system. The stock sub-woofer...
Thanks all for your input. I decided to go with the x994. The larger screen on the KIV-700 would be just a larger washed out screen in a convertible. I also decided to go with the Boston Acoustic SR-60.
BMW M Roadster
HU: Kenwood KDC-x994
Speakers: Boston Acoustics SR60
Amp: Alpine PDX...
Yes, I did this. I'm fine with the way both worked for me. I guess all this boils down to a larger screen or Bluetooth. My current Alpine cd-105 I've had for almost a year. I've never put a cd into it. As all this is going into a convertible, I don't have much storage and lets face...
I'm down to a Kenwood KIV-700 or a Kenwood KDC-x994. I compared these 2 HU on KenwoodUSA and Crutchfield. I understand the differences between them. That being said, the sales guy I was talking to highly reccomends the x994 over the KIV-700. When I asked why, the sales guy said the x994 has...
Yes, the volume would decrease as you came to a stop and increase to your original setting when in sped up. I asked this in a couple of BMW forums. The HU was made by Alpine but the complete system HU, amp, and speakers were badged as a Harmon Kardon system. They said it was the amp that...
I have a 98 BMW M Roadster. The original HU, amp, and speakers have been replaced with an Alpine HU, PDX 4.150 and BA RC620 speakers. One thing I dearly miss from the original HU/amp was the speed sensitive volume. When I removed the BMW HU and amp I left the original speed sensitive wiring...
9 speakers in the car and 7 dry-rotted. Only the tweeters survived. The subs and the speakers in the kick panel literally disintegrated as I removed them. All that was left was the that little wire at the bottom of the speaker.
I may just give up and put some Polk Audio coax speakers in the...
I have a BMW Z3M Roadster. I'm looking for two 5.25 sub woofers to replace the ones that are in the factory sub woofer location. I tried some Tang Band W5 1138SM but they were to big for the factory sub woofer box. My current setup is an Alpine CDA-105 with a KTP-445 power pack. My component...
