the rcas n power are completely separated, even up to the amp. i'm using the stock nav. headunit. i had two amps in my car before, they were rated for more power, and i never had a problem. i installed my new amp and sub, and theres this whining that increased with rpms.

i installed my sub today, and theres an annoying whining noise. with the radio on or off, its still there. Any suggestions on what it might be?

I used elmers wood glue max for all the joints, i used lq nails wood as silicone for the edges. Is that a bad idea? Yea i guess ill take the cup out then n put a piec of wood in it. Might as well do it right the first time

just to let everyone know, i liquid nailed the ENTIRE terminal cup, inside and out. I doubt any air will be leaking out of there. and im just going to drill a hole in the box, silicone it and call it a day. thanks for the help everyone

i wish i woulda knew all this about terminal cups before i put it in lol at least i read about it before i used it, and ran into problems later on. it woulda been so much easier not putting the terminal cup in. should i just liquid nail the whole cup, inside and out, to guarentee no air leaks...

so if i drill a hole through the box, and use liquid nails to seal it up. i have a question. the sub i have is dual vioce coils. should i run all four connections to the amp, or just connect the sub inside the box, and run 2 cables to the amp?

see, im assuming i have a cheap terminal cup, because i took my cup off a pre fab box i had. i have rockford 8gauge power cable for my speaker wire. Personally, would yuou use the cup? Redline, did u see them melt becaus of shorts, or too much current going through them?? Would i have a problem with 1200 watts?

Yea i know how to wire them. I meant, i dont think 2 8gaugE cable is going to fit into one terminal on the sub, because you have to connect 2 positives n 2 negatives together

The sub im getting is dual 2 ohms. N i have 8 gauge cable at my house. Should i just buy 12 gauge so i can wire them internally, cuz i doubt 8 would fitWat do u mean seperate runs?

Jtomsic, how is that hifonic amp for ur comps ?? I need an amp, n dont wanna spend 300 on it at the moment. Would u suggest just not using the cup, and running the cable through the port?? Or make a hole in the box? The. Cup is alreadi installed, i could jus not use it n go a different route...
