    True, and mine was one of them...after 10 minutes, whole radio frozen...It was being repaired, now it's workins without problems.

    Both are great...but Pioneer doesn't have glide touch...Alpine has 5 band parametric eq or 7 band graphic eg , Pioneer only 13 band graphic...Alpine 4V preouts, Pioneer 6,5V...Pioneer has coloured display, Alpine not... Depends on which features your friend prefers.

    Those models are even without time correction....this is no replacement for me. As I've said, here in Europe 9855 stays top model: http://www.alpine-europe.com/content/english/k353.Head-units.htm How about in USA, last year models will no longer be avaliable?

    My first post:) Set subsonic at around 20 or 25hz...depends how low your subs go.
