Is it possible to release the clip with just a knife?

Is it possible to do with just a knife or something?

Like i get the whole thing to move, but it moves out a little bit and then it stops as if there is something clipped in or locking it in or something. i tried to little butter knifes on the sides and it goes a little and then gets stuck

yes that little black surround piece around it, we took off earlier. Just went home now to figure this out so i put it back on

So my friend and I are trying to hook up my subs and amp to my car. But when we were trying to get out the stereo part, we took off the black surrounding plastic part. We took a knife and were just trying to pry out the stereo, but something is getting stuck and it isnt just sliding. Any tips...
