    Whine

Anyways, the problem is fixed. I redid the HU ground, the RCA ground, and generally just fiddled with it. The whine is gone. Thanks for all the help.

All they would have to do is open it up and replace the fuse. If I had a phillips screw driver small enough I would do it. Well just bridge the fuse but it would/should work. I can't get the screws out.

    Whine

I wish that I didn't still have a problem... The HU is grounded much like yours (ultimate157) and I made sure that the RCAs are tightly connected to the outputs. Still whine. Worse yet, the Pioneer Service Center nearest me picks up on Tuesday and Friday and drops off on the same day. Not fixed...

    Beginner question

You could use your old sub box but I would recommend you building something yourself to not waste space. It would look nicer too.

    Whine

I have Monster RCAs in there right now. The problem still occurs. I read somewhere that the pico fuses causes this problem in the Pioneer HUs and I might have hot swapped the RCAs. I didn't know Pioneers came with a pico fuse, it wasn't listed among the features. Pioneer was R-TARDED for that.

    Questions regarding wattage and such.

Just because they are the same wattage does not mean that they have the same specs. For instance two different brands of speakers with the same wattage will operate in two different sized spaces. Some work better in ported boxes and some work better in enclosed boxes. It is always best to use...

Or better yet what is the ohm for the resistor needed to bypass the pico fuse? I couldn't find it after an hour of searching. I don't care if I blow my amps.

umm, I'm not sure, but I know I need help.

^I agree that Sony blows^, that said I have two Sony amps. Did you break the speaker in properly? I had that smell then it went away. You probably have an amp that might do say 800W peak and 400RMS. Thats why Sony blows. Well one reason. Get a class d monoblock and you should be fine.

    Beginner question

I built an amp rack and I put both my crossovers and both amps on it. Works well as the crossovers are out of sight and close to the amps when needed to work on them. The amp rack is on my hatchback cover.

    bad bad bad

Next time when you install with the battery still attached, try putting both the ground wire and positive wire in your mouth. That will end all your amp blowing problems, well and your heart. Seriously... Don't do it.

    Whine

I want it fixed. I just want to start up the car and not hear whine. I am almost tempted to put a .44 slug into the engine block and walk away from it. *Sigh* Does anyone replace pico fuses for the pioneer in the Richardson area if anyone lives around here?

    Whine

Well I grounded the HU to the RCAs and I was whine free.... Till a couple hours after install then when I went to work it was back. I bought Monster RCAs to replace the crappy ones I had. I can't win. At all. I will try and have my pico fuse replaced. This is the last Pioneer I am ever going to buy.
