I'm not looking to spend more than 400$. I'm more into the quality of the sound.. I don't want something that rattles in the trunk. Yea, I'm going to look at subs in audio stores, but I wanted to have an idea of what to look for while I was in there.

I'm new w/ all this, but I just got a 2003 Mitsu lancer.. and i want to put a system in it. Trunk space is an issue. There's not a huge amount of room back there. But I think I could fit a set of 12's. What are good brands for subs? I'm looking for a hard hitting sound. Something that will pick...
