how do u know the amp is 1000watts, i thought it was 400 each sub?

Thanks for the quick replies, but no one really answered my real question. Is this amp too little power for these subs? What kind of power is it making and is 1000 watts on those subs an exaggeration?

m new to car audio. I have an 07 tahoe that i had my local shop put two 10" RE se subs in a ported box with 1.35 cu feet each, then they are paired with a US amps exterminator 1600. I looked on the USamps site and it says the amp only makes 400 watts, so what gives? I think those subs handle up...
