the point i was making in the post you quoted was that a 15xxx does out displace 2 12 rlp's and yes overall install is huge when considering db's, but again that wasnt the point of my most recent post

alright here let me prove it to you...and the specs were taken from the sub's websites 12" RL-p = xmax 24.2 (pi x radius^2 x xmax = displacement) soooo 3.14 x 6^2 x 24.2 = 2735.6, so 2 12" rlp's would be 5471.1 15" xxx = xmax 32 and with the same formula 3.14 x 7.5^2 x 32 = 5652 5652...

no ****it, the gain is not a wattage knob, it has nothing to do with how many watts the amp puts out, the gain only deals with the INPUT voltage from your deck

the single 15" xxx outdisplaces 2 12" soundsplinter rlp's so the xxx in the right box will always be louder, and most likley sound better even if its somewhat subjective, as far as power goes amps if you shop right amps really arnt all that expensive to buy or run unless your going to do an alt...

for a 15" the XXX or IDMAX are both very good choices, the idmax would like the sealed better, the xxx will hurt in a large ported box id not do the 3 10's seems like a deffinate waste of money, plus if your gunna do 3 10's why not 2 12's instead? usually its a lil cheaper ascendant audio from...
