Figured it out. All it took was a little more online research. Here is the link to the best thread I could find explaining my situation: *UPDATED* I DID IT! solved the bose system upgrade issues : Mobile Electronics
Turns out, the Bose amp is the culprit who has been messing with my sub setup...
C1500martin - I do not have an aftermarket amp powering the door speakers/tweeters. I am not expecting too much out of the kicker, because I have had it in a 2004 Silverado, and a car like I previously mentioned, also in various spots throughout those two vehicles as a matter of fact. I know...
Yup I know, the bass boost should always be at 0 and always has been, and I do have a sub control on my headunit but it only goes to +6 so it doesnt change too much. Not sure what else could be wrong or why my speakers are maxed out at 1/3 volume or less on the HU.
Alright, I have a 2006 Silverado 1500 crew cab with the Bose system in it. I replaced the stock HU with a Pioneer double din. I got a Kenwood 1000w class D mono amp and paired it with a 400W RMS Kicker CVR 12" DVC 4 ohm subwoofer. And I have a medium sized ported box. I ran all 4 gauge wire.
I...
Alright so I have been at it for 3 days straight.. trying to wire up a new Pioneer double din head unit into my 2006 Silverado LT crew cab.
This is what my exact truck diagram is suppose to look like...

Yup I set the amp gain/checked voltages at the amp and they were perfect, I am running 4 gauge which should be more than fine I'd think, my ground is about 14" long and is secured straight to the chassis via a 3/4" bolt. The wiring inside the vehicle should be perfect because Ive done it before...
Well, my ground is definitely good, it has a brand new alternator. Wired up the sub with really good stuff too! And the big 3 are all fine. The amp is brand new also, so I guess it could only be my battery or amp?
Hi guys, I'll make it quick but I need help!!
I have a Kenwood KAC-5001PS 1000-Watt Class D Mono Power Amp and a Kicker CVR124 12" Dual 4 ohm CompVR Series sub. Just installed the system in my Duramax and whenever I start to turn the music/bass up even half loud the amp shuts off! I have the...
Nice build, I bet that does sound good! Yeah I love these budget builds, wasn't in a hurry and just waited for the deals to come to me. Could have done it cheaper used, but I wanted everything brand new because Ill probably keep this setup forever.
I am soon upgrading the head unit to something better. I got the Panasonic brand new for really cheap from a friend and I will use just use it in another vehicle. Next thing after that will possibly be speakers.
Thanks man. Will do if I can get the video file in a different format lol The only thing I don't like about sub demo videos is the bass either seems way better than it actually is or does 0 justice and seems like crap.

Haha, I guess it is just a matter of your own feel-good preference.. I'll probably play 5 or 10 songs at a lower volume and see how she does for the first time after setting everything up, and then if all goes well - bump er' hard!
