Hi, I just installed another amp and sub to my system and i am getting some alternator whine in the front left speaker, but no others. if i take the rca for that speaker out and put it in another channel i get no whine, i.e. it's only coming from the first channel of my amp. So I was wondering...

So would just about any amp that is 2 and 4 ohm stable be able to handle the 3 ohm load? Sounded like that was what you were gettting at, but I just wanted to make sure. Also is there a good way to calculate the wattage at 3 ohms if it is not listed?

Hey guys, I need help finding an amp that will be compaible with a JL 12w6. It's not V2 so it's dual 6 ohm voice coils, so I would need an amp that does around 300-500 watts at 3 ohms. Thanks for the help

I have one more question. Should I get an amp with the RMS rating that is the same as the RMS on my speakers, or should I get one that has an RMS in the middle range somewhere in my speakers power handling? My speakers power handling is 75-225 and 55-165 for the fronts and backs by the way.

Anyone have an opinion?

Well I guess then the REF6002SI are the only Infinities I can get. Would the drop in quality be so much that I should just forget the infinities and get another type? I have about 200 to spend on both sets of speakers and components are not really and option.

I have tried there, but only gotten confusing results. I really just need to know my max door depth. The speakers I would like to get (Infinity Kappa 63.5I) have a depth of 2 3/16" but crutchfield says they don't fit my car ('95 Civic DX); however they give me other results with a 2 3/16"...
