Took the advice of others in this post and re foamed the W3. Was a PITA to keep the coil alignment while gluing to the frame. It works well and I hear no coil rubbing. This is no thanks to JL as they wouldn't repair even if they were paid to!!!!

Thanx for the reply and info on the re foam supplier. My W3s are only one gen behind. They are the ones prior to the single voice coil models. So maybe on the W0s. No way is this acceptable on the W3. I understand some of the issues. Companies are being overwhelmed by abuse. Not the case...

Sundown recommended SA series when I mentioned JL and ID to them. After having owned Image Dynamics IDMAX 12s I can tell you Image Dynamics is fantastic. I am in process of replacing my JL 12w3 that failed(surround disintegrated!!!!JL cannot and will not fix!!!!!) with an ID12.
