98 ***** Am full install with DD, Boston, Kicker and fiberglass

That's the main reason I posted this, because when I was looking I couldn't find anything cool to base my build off of, and couldn't find anyone putting more than just a couple of 10s in a crappy box in one these cars. I really don't think you could get much louder in a ***** am without going...

The DD on the speaker is a sticker, not paint, and you can get them from DD, just have to ask for them.

No, not for comp. Never meant for it to be for comp. Just wanted to try and give myself a system and install that was a few steps up from the basic wooden speaker box covered in carpet.

I was worried I would have some noise, since I kinda rigged them up instead of using aeros, but I didn't consider having them too small would do it, well, having them 3in anyway. I don't hear it if they do, but I could be wrong. I will take a good listen and let you know.

98 ***** Am full install with DD, Boston, Kicker and fiberglass

I can't really say that I knew exactly what I was doing on the ports. I really did cheap out on not using aeros, I know, but was trying to get by without much money. I talked to the guys at DD about ported vs sealed given my volume, and they suggested ported and gave me the specs for the ports...

98 ***** Am full install with DD, Boston, Kicker and fiberglass

4.3 before displacement. It was a pain to get it all taped off and get the first layer of fiberglass down, that's why I quit after one layer and let it dry, took it out and then added more layers for strength. If I were to do it again I would tough it out and do all the layers at once in the...

The ports are 2in diameter, wanted one on each side to make it symetric. The box is 4.3cuft. Tuned to 38hz. I don't think it would be possible to get any more volume out of that space.

Once I had the mold made I covered it in several more layers to give it strenght and then cut a piece of wood to mount the speaker in. The wood was to help give it strenght and give me something to mount my ports to and run my fiberglass onto to make it look good in the end. I sanded...

    Gain setting problems

I fixed the problem. The sx700.4 amp has a digital screen through which you make all of your adjustments. I didn't know that within the main menu there was a setting for input votage range of the RCAs. I had to adjust this down to the voltage input of my RCAs which was around 2V with the...

    Gain setting problems

Yes, I did unhook the speakers when I tested it. I will try turning up the volume, that was one thing that I thought about late last night that I could try. Isn't .5V on the RCAs low? I had the meter set right, and I read it right, so I am sure that it was .5V.

    Gain setting problems

I have Pioneer DEH-P980BT head unit with 5V preouts, Boston Pro 60 components, and a Kicker SX700.4 amp. I used a 1khz test tone at 0dB for my measurements. Turned eq to flat, volume to 45/62...etc. The components are rated for 125 RMS and they are a 3 ohm load. The amp puts out 82 watts per...

Kicker SX700.4 left channel not working

I need some help fixing this. The amp works great except for the left channel of amp 1. Everything else works great. I don't know a whole lot about amps, but I have taken it apart and have it setting on my workbench right now. I don't see anything that looks burnt, but then again, I don't...

    2000 watts...extra battery?

Hey, thanks for the help. Looks like I don't HAVE to get one. I will try it and see what kind of voltage I am getting and go from there. The SX700.4 is digital and will tell me what voltage the amp is getting, as well as the highest and lowest voltage it sees.
