Haha no it was the sales dude who works on the floor, not the install tech. But it makes me wonder how often customers end up having to return parts after the techs tell them it won't work together... based on the little bit of reading I did it seems like the ohm rating is pretty significant...

Right now I'm trying to read about amps and most of it might as well be written in japanese Do I need to get a 5 channel amp if I want to power a sub + 4 speakers, or is this just a stupid idea in the first place? The guy in our store said get a mono amp and none for the speakers...

Are there good audio wholesalers online or something? We basically pay the wholesale cost for everything... not sure how anyone could sell stuff online at cost or below and still turn a profit

I bet if you got to know anyone working at your local BB they'd hook you up. Most people on the floor are just part-time and don't really care about their job... not like best buy pays well or anything.

Yeah I thought the selection would be better online but I think there are actually a few things in-store that aren't listed on the website for some reason... I just don't know whose advice to trust, the one guy seems like he knows his stuff but can't really explain a lot of the technical details...
