Ported box for pioneer premier spl

I've had quite a bit of experience with these. I liked them at around 2.0 cubes @ 28hz to get a little better low end extension on a daily ground pounder. If you plan to give them full power all the time and beat on them I would suggest 1.6 @ 34.

Help Building a Sound Quality System!

Go to DIYMA and ask your questions there, most of the guys there only suggest stuff they have had experience with instead of people saying "x" is good when they have never heard them. People around here aren't the brightest when it comes to SQ. All they care about is loundness.

    i need a sub

There is no way possible you can know this without measuring it yourself. The gain will differ in each installation, for example, the gain on my amps don't even need to be 1/4 of the way up to reach clipping. My guess would be overpowered and not clipped seeing as how it has a 1600 watt amp on a...

Why are you quoting me about about electric cars?

    H/O alternator questions

It uses regulated voltage control, which basically cuts out the charging of the battery if there is no need for it. It's kinda pointless because everyone sets their light knob to auto and enables the daytime running lights. I tested it on mine, didn't notice the difference in fuel economy.

    Amp help

Just get a 2 ohm class D amp. It's pointless to run @ .5 ohm especially considering how much more an amp will cost that will function properly at that low of a resistance. Way more options at 2 ohm.

Question about a used box I bought

It's birch, as in, it has birch veneer on the outer most layers. The inner layers are most likely pine. The good stuff has hardwood in all layers. Seems pretty close. Generally, most people aim for 12"-16" of port area per cubic ft. Aero ports tend to require less than your typical square...

Question about a used box I bought

Are you sure that's 1" birch? 1" Birch usually has 15 layers and is rare or special order in most areas. That looks like the 7 layer 3/4" from Home Depot.

    s10 extended cab box

It won't make a difference. Shifting the port one way a small amount will only show on a meter. If you want more pressure, get more cone area.

ISN'T THIS A GREAT DEAL FOR $208 SHIPPED soundqubed 12 custom birch box 1.25 front

Agreed it's not pure Baltic birch, but it's not the cheap Chinese crap. It looks to be 11 layers so I'm guessing it's either Columbia Forest or AraucoPly from either Lowes or Home Depot, both are good quality and perfectly fine for making boxes. The cheap Chinese stuff is usually 7 layers. I...
