Trying to get back into competing and need to decide on a vehicle to build in..

After looking at craigslist, it seems S10's are a dime a dozen. What can really be done in a S10 to be "competitive" in stock class? What class would a blow through be put into? I also seen a freshly painted CRX that is pretty much stock but I'd have to sit and look inside a CRX to believe I...

I was doing 150 previously and it seems nowadays 155 is about where you want to be for stock classes. It would take a relatively small (cab)vehicle to get numbers like that. Definitely not interested in trunk class.

USAC is all I've ever competed in and is the most popular around here in Louisiana.

Trying to get back into competing and need to decide on a vehicle to build in..

I'm trying to decide on what way to go with a build. I sold my old DD 9515D's and bought new 9515I's and I'm planning to go with a Zapco 3KD on each....unless I can find another C2K-9.0. What would be an ideal vehicle for 2 15's to stay legal(not modified class) for competition? My previous SUV...

Bought some new DD 9515's and one 9.0 isn't going to cut it, so I need another.

    My 2000 Ford Explorer

I am in Houma. I would definately like to put it on a meter and find my peak freq. I have another friend with 4 15" Power Acoustic MOFO who needs to test his too. He bought a meter off of fe-bay that hooks up to a Fluke meter, but I don't think its too accurate. It is supposed to be within .5db...

    My 2000 Ford Explorer

It may have too much chrome for alot of people, but that is how we do it down in South Louisiana. I have not had a chance to meter it yet. I have been offshore working since I finished and there aren't any shows coming up around here anytime soon. The new box should do alot better with the subs...

All of those parts already have factory paint so its just a matter of scuffing up the paint to get it to stick good. I did not do the paint work myself.

Here are some pic of the speaker grilles I made for the front doors and covered then in dark red grille cloth. Last pic is the new high end DD tweeters I put in the front doors.

    My 2000 Ford Explorer

Here is what I got going on with my Explorer. It's not much of a build log as I am pretty much done with the stereo for the time being. I am new to the site. I usually post on the forums at soundpressure.com. Panasonic CQ-HX2083 HU Zapco SX-SL, Zapco C2K2.5, Zapco C2K9.0XD W/XD-VFD/WRC...

Shouldn't the fuse on the wire going from Alt to Batt match the size of the factory fuse under the hood. In my case 2000 Explorer was 175A.
