Might as well just buy 2 and see how they work. Worst case scenario you wasted 20 dollars if they break. Most likely you can at least use them til you find something better.

I think it's more bass or a lower range of bass. I definitely shouldn't have put better though. You're welcome to give him your expert opinion though as you probably know more about it than I do.
