    No Power To Amp!

I started taking the heat shrink tubing off the remote power wire coming off the battery, and one end of the wire came right off butt splice. The copper wire had basically disintegrated. I needed to cut about 6inches of wire off before I could find some clean copper again. I reattached the wire...

    No Power To Amp!

This wouldn't make sense though as the amp power is showing a full 12 volts.   ---------- Post added at 01:44 AM ---------- Previous post was at 01:43 AM ----------   I'm not sure what this is?

    No Power To Amp!

Yeah, it must be a break in the power wire for the LOC. I'm going to trace the wire from the battery to the LOC tomorrow and see what I find.

    No Power To Amp!

I just got in from goofing around with it again. My DMM is now reading 0.5 volts at the power of the LOC. I checked the battery terminal posts under the hood, but they didn't look too corroded or anything. I tried cleaning them with some baking powder and water anyway. No change. I was running...

    No Power To Amp!

hmm interesting. So I'm somehow losing about 7 volts on the wire running from my battery to the LOC, and that's why the power at the LOC is only showing 5 volts? What would cause a partial power loss like this?

    yes, that's correct

    No Power To Amp!

Sorry, I updated the post to be a little more specific. I have tapped into fuse #35 of my car and ran the remote turn on wire directly into my LOC, which shows the full 12volts. Then on the remote out, it's only showing 5volts, but that may be because the LOC is only showing 5volts on the...

    No Power To Amp!

I was able to successfully jump the amp with the car off and key not in the ignition. This confirms that the issue is with the remote wire. Furthermore, I did some voltage tests at various different points and found the power cable to the amp had the full 12+ volts, power to my LOC had about 5...

Can running rca cables next to power cable cause distortion?

Yes, absolutely. It's recommended that RCA cables be run on the opposite side of the power cable.

    No Power To Amp!

That makes sense. I'll give it a try tomorrow and come back with the update. Thanks

    No Power To Amp!

OK, perhaps I accidentally misinformed you based off what I thought. When I jumped the remote wire at the amp to the power and the amp turned on, I assumed this meant my remote wire was good, and my power was bad. You're saying it's the other way around, and my power is good, but remote wire is bad?

    No Power To Amp!

They're both powered off separate wires coming straight from the battery. Yes, I do have a volt meter.

    No Power To Amp!

Hi there, I ran into an issue yesterday where the front audio and subwoofer cut out. I wired this system myself about 5 years ago, and it's been running great ever since. I have a 4 channel amp with 2 channels running a front set of infinitys', and the other 2 channels are bridged for the sub...
