I think reconeing them is worth it only cause my boy had a set of altec lansing 6x9's and till this day are the best sounding 6x9's i've heard. I no longer use 6x9's as components are superior but those are good speakers. Haven't really heard any current 6x9's so take my opinion for what it's worth
