What is the current forum boner? (6.5 comps, $250-$300)

I just picked up 2 sets of Hertz E165L's from a local dealer for $220 a pair, the orange ones. I am running them off a PPI PCX480 and they are freakin amazing. Crystal clear, tons of bottom, mid bass and crystal clear high end. They laugh at the measly 80 watts I am feeding them. Best sounding...

    Confused

Get rid of the cap...they are useless

    Power Cable set -Tspec ?'s

Hopefully they are good. They claim to be OFC. Almost all the local stores are installing and selling CCA on even high end jobs....???? But then again, a lot of the systems they are putting in are not for real music, just for rap and super low bass with no SQ at all. People like to hear their...

Alpine SPR-60C vs Hertz ESK 165

Cool....Gotta check them out. I never dime a power amp, and I'm only at 80 watts on the PPI. I just know there is so much BS with ratings nowadays.....I just want crystal clear, natural sound... Steve

    Power Cable set -Tspec ?'s

Is that good or bad? It says OFC, so I assumed they were OK. 99% of the stuff I see even at pro install shops is copper clad aluminum. I personally don't think it's a huge difference, but all the shops are $2-$3 for the clad crap. I was going to get a Rockford 4 Gague setup, but didn't see the...

    Power Cable set -Tspec ?'s

Is the TSpec V84RAK 4 Gauge V8 Series OFC Car Audio Amplifier/Amp Kit w/2-Channel RCAs a good setup? All I have been able to find is CCA and RF stuff at local stores. The RF 4 gauge is like $100, and all the OFC is hard to find. I just bought this set from Sonic just now. I am just hoping it is...

Alpine SPR-60C vs Hertz ESK 165

Are they nice sounding speakers? There is one guy selling display models in acrylic displays...He wants $60 shipping...LOL They are a little low on the wattage too, so I am a little hesitant. My PPI is a clean amp, but I am concerned about that.

Any other suggestions for SQ in the $200-$250 per pair range????

Alpine SPR-60C vs Hertz ESK 165

They don't fit my front doors due to the magnet size. They were on my watch list. I spoke to several places including Crutchfield and JBL, both agreed that I would have to modify my door panels to get them to fit. I did listen to a few sets of the JBL's on a sound board and the Hertz sounded...

Alpine SPR-60C vs Hertz ESK 165

I know, but I read a bunch of stuff about fake ones....Who the hell would take the time to counterfeit low priced speakers????LOL

Alpine SPR-60C vs Hertz ESK 165

Should I be concerned at the power rating of the Pioneer TS-D1720C's?????? Are they going to take a beating and distort/blow? This is for the rear I would consider....

Alpine SPR-60C vs Hertz ESK 165

My max is $500 for 2 pairs, front and back. I would be willing to spend more on the fronts since they are what I will be hearing for the most part. I have a local Authorized Hertz dealer I've known for a while that will do $225 a pair for the Hertz. I just did not know if they are far superior...

Alpine SPR-60C vs Hertz ESK 165

Used for SQ, not SPL. Rock, Metal, Blues, Jazz, Funk.. Powered by PPI PCX 480 Which is better for a natural sound without harsh high end? I need 2 sets of 6.5's

Newbie here looking for suggestions on what I have (and don't)....

Wow...Glad I joined such a helpful forum....LOL Luckily, there are places that actually help. This must be a beginners site.... Maybe since I don't listen to rap at high SPL with no sound quality, I didn't get any help.... Later kids....
