why do you want 3 subs.. why not 4

I was wondering. Can you have anything inbetine the sub and where you are going to be listening to it. For example can you put one in the trunk or you you have to have like a hackback so that there is nothing in the way of the sound. I have a 85 pontiac 6000 with 2 200W 6x9's pionner...
