So I thought I'd update this. I ended up finally fixing the issue after buying a mechman alternator. so there you go my fellow f150 5.4 owners. Only the mechman regulator seems to be able to keep up with the the truck. For documentation sake I fixed it well using a 1000cca agm battery, 1/0...

So thought I would update this. I traced the alternator wires and found no issues, checked my terminals again and tightened anything and everything down, redid some ring terminals, but no change. I've decided to bring it to my stereo guy to see if fresh eyes help. Before I bring it to him...

So I think the next steps for me are checking the alternator wires all around. Than I may try replacing just the voltage regulator And last I guess a new alternator again... would ordering a mechman be worth it?

I do Is the field wire the one that rest around 7 to 12v?

I will. Mind you I have before but its worth it again. I just had a capacitor delivered. I'll have to see if that helps at all as a bandaid to the issue. As for the other alternator, it's definitely a lot more stable, but it's not really fixing the issue... plus idk about yall but I don't...

I actually replaced the terminals not to long ago. Do you think that could affect it?

The oem is broke unfortunately, ill look to testing. Do they need the alternator out to test?

Okay, checked the pins and they seem to be tight, I certainly struggled to unplug it. I run then at 1ohm, but unfortunately I don't think it matters, but I will still check, maybe something else is wrong there haha. So, I finally got around to doing this, and the results were Interesting...

When I indused the issue and tested at the cig lighter, it showed 17.02

That would ****... it's brand new... I have a spare, just has an overheating issues

They are 14awg stranded.. so they would be big enough. Lol this *****... im truly stumped
