I had an '87 B2200. I had a sealed box custom made to fit a Kappa Perfect 12 behind the passenger side of the bench. Seemed to work pretty well. I'm on the taller side, so my bench was basically backed up all the way.

Perhaps a silly question, but the Kicker box specs call for a side firing port. The ebay box that Quackhead linked has a front firing port. If my sub is facing forward, pointed at the rear seats, is one port location preferable over the other? One other thing that isn't making sense in my pea...

Found the manual for the L7, and there are box specs for a 2.25 cubic foot slot ported enclosure tuned to 38hz. This sounds like the best option for me. I plan to take the specs to my local shop to have it built. Anyone have a ballpark estimate for what a box like this would cost?

Awesome, thanks for the responses. So it sounds like th suggested course of action would be to 1) try a new box, 2) more power, 3) look for new subs. I almost did it backwards. Unfortunately I lack the time, tools, and skill to build my own box, but there is a local shop I can use...
