My brothers g/f and myself are putting our money together to get him new speakers for his 2001 cavalier coupe which I understand has 4x6 door speakers and 6x9 deck speakers. This is being done on a budget, what would you recommend?

Well i suppose I'll do a little update, Pics: Xover on HU set at 63hz, box is not actually attached to the truck but is snug all around. The jack bracket was a pain in the you know what..... Vids will come at a later date after they are broken in some more, any song suggestions...

I can chuck a 1/2" bit in my 3/8" drill (it has a shank on it so it'll fit) and just barely drill out the rivets and chisel the bracket off without ever going through the back of the cab, that is if all goes as planned...... chereck04 says my system is the best box/install a beginner has DIYed...

I concur, f-ing jack bracket and we don't have the tools not to mention it was 25 outside and dark. I will try a drill bit and chisel for the spot welds sometime soon

a curved port out of mdf is doable in your situation, if you cut a kerf every 1/2 inch or so with an 1/8" blade you could make that bend. I'm not sure about the kerf spacing tho. A curved port will be stronger than a straight port, just like curved fiberglass is rigid yet straight fiberglass is...
