Possible that my sub is close to blowing?

I'm a subwoofer newbie. When I play it free air, what do I play? Music or test tones? And what do I look/listen for? How will I know what's wrong? I went back and re-set my gain with a DMM and turned my bass boost up between 3/8-1/2. I heard no rattle there. But after playing it awhile, the...

    Vintage Mind Blower speakers???

I know they prolly sound like crap by todays standards. Im more interested in the nostalgia of them. In his day, a 69 camaro or late 70's firebird with cragar ss wheels and mind blower speakers were the coolest cars. Id love to set up a car the way he wouldve back then, and get a sense of...

    Vintage Mind Blower speakers???

Everytime I install modern stereo components, my father tells me stories of his audio systems back in the day, circa late 70's. Although the cars change in each story, he always mentions "Mind Blower" speakers. He said they were 6x9 speakers with thier own amps mounted to them. I did some...

Need a new set of 10's for daily driver?

Yea, I need dual 4's since I have a mono amp. And those look lie they may be too deep for my box's mounting depth. Those soundstream subs on eBay look nice. I'm a noob and don't know much about those Hifonics subs. I'm just getting reccomendations and info right now, gonna see how long these...

Need a new set of 10's for daily driver?

My current 2 Kicker CVR 10's are pretty much on thier way to going bad. I found a deal online and got them both new for $104. My sealed box has 0.85 ft^3 for each sub and 6.25" mounting depth. I have a Rockford Fosgate Power T500-1bd amp the puts out 750rms at 1 ohm. I want 4ohm DVC's or 2ohm...

Possible that my sub is close to blowing?

Yea I set it with a 45hz tone. But some people have been tellin me I should set the gain with a 60hz tone because most dmms only read accurately at 60hz AC. I hopin maybe that song was just bottoming the sub out. So far today its played fine at medium volume levels.

Possible that my sub is close to blowing?

Well, it wasn't as loud as it should be. And with using a DMM, the gain was only 1/4-3/8 of the way up. I turned it a lil more and still didn't hear distortion, so I left it there.

Possible that my sub is close to blowing?

I was thinking maybe the spider. Could this problem be fixed? If so, how easy or hard to fix? How could I tell for sure if its the suspension or just bottoming out?

Possible that my sub is close to blowing?

I have 2 Kicker CVR 10" 4ohm DVC subwoofers. They were hooked to a 2 channel amp giving them 125watts each for about a year. For christmas, my parents bought me a Rockford Fosgate amp that does 750watts rms at 1 ohm. My subs are wired parallel/parallel for 1ohm and 375 watts each. I hooked the...

    Screws backing out from vibration?

My amp is mounted onto my sub box, it has an amp rack on it. Last night I heard some rattling and thought it was a sub going bad. After further inspection, it turns out just some screws on my amp and subs were backing out. How can I keep the screws from backing out due to vibration? Wood glue on...

    Jensen VM9313 bypass question

Ok, btw, I had better luck getting a remote off eBay. I never could get ahold of Jensen directly.

    Jensen VM9313 bypass question

Its a lil more than just typing 543210... I explained the full process above. But my local cops are pricks, so I leave my brake override off and just use the switch. That way, when I get pulled over, I flip the switch, and when the cop tests the dvd playback, he'll get the blue "apply parking...

    Jensen VM9313 bypass question

Thats what I thought too. And after hours of tryin to ground it and get it to work, I called my local dealer/installer for advice. But they require this pulse signal. My local installer told me this, he deals jensens and installs several a month. It's a bit rediculous, because if you did have it...

    Jensen VM9313 bypass question

Thats what I thought too. But they require this pulse signal. My local installer told me this, he deals jensens and installs several a month. It's a bit rediculous, because if you did have it hooked to the e-brake, you would have to apply, disengage and re-apply it???
