    System problems... out of ideas!

I haven't done it yet, but I think that is my next step... if that doesn't work, i'm not sure what else to try. I have digital multimeter... should I use it to check my ground? Also, how would I? I mean... I know what settings to use and stuff, just not sure where to put the red needle and the...

    System problems... out of ideas!

I was thinking it could be the HU. The weird thing is... the HU is pretty new, had it for 2-3 months, and everything worked fine until I took my system out and put it back in again. The HU hasn't been removed, which is why it being the HU would have been odd. If the RCA grounds were bad on...

    System problems... out of ideas!

My HU is a Kenwood.. KDC-HD545U It's odd, however, that when both RCA's are plugged in, it sounds MUCH more loud than when one is plugged in and the other is just touching the outter ring of the RCA terminals.

    System problems... out of ideas!

K, well, I bought a brand new pair of RCA's and ran them straight from my HU to my amp. So that's... 3 different pairs that have not "FIXED" the issue. And... bad ground? Possibly, but would a bad ground on the amp really cause me to hear track switching THROUGH my subwoofers? Also, if it...

    System problems... out of ideas!

Ok, my system used to work perfectly until I removed it for a few weeks and tried to put it back in. When I turn on my headunit, I hear my subs kick in, and they make a LITTLE bit of noise. From there, I turn on my car. When I do that, the noise gets louder (probably engine wine or...

    How to hook up...?

I've exchanged speakers within the store 3-4 times trying to get a speaker that will fit, but none of them do because they seem to be of abnormal size. So the speakers I have now, and plan on KEEPING if I can make work, are 90w rms and 55w rms. I'd post models but I don't have my car right now...

    How to hook up...?

So basically find a 2 channel that's around 200 rms x 2 chan @ 2 ohms. Also, my Kicker 5.25"s are 90 RMS and my other speakers are 55 RMS... Can my other speakers be overpowered much? They're Alpine's.

    Out of ideas!!!

Yeah the measurement of 4.5" is from the outside ring, straight across to the other side. But that is no including the flaps that would stick out for the screws. So wouldn't that mean 4.5"?

What speaker rings would you suggest I use...? I have tried plenty and have no clue what to do at this point.

    Out of ideas!!!

That is very... very odd.. :/ But why would the cutout for a 4" speaker be MORE THAN 4 INCHES? That wouldn't be very tightly sealed...

Rich B, anything about the back speakers???

    Out of ideas!!!

Is it on your PC... Copy the text and enlarge it in Word... It must say 4.5, I don't know why it'd say 5. Does it say anything about a back speaker size?

    Out of ideas!!!

The cutout is 4.5" perfectly... so would that not imply I would need a 4.5" speaker? Or... maybe I need a 4. I wish I could just find out. But in reality, the 5.25" are not THAT much bigger. Seems like a 4.5" would work perfectly... :/

    Out of ideas!!!

Actually... the speakers are too big for the door where.... when I push it in as far as I can, the flaps cover up the screw holes. It's clearly too big of a speaker.

    Out of ideas!!!

I am out of ideas with my speakers. Most websites say my 95 Geo Prizm's from speakers are 5.25.... well they can't be. I've went through 3 pairs of 5.25" speakers and none of them will fit, because they are too LARGE. Now the outter edge of the cutout (where the screw slots AREN'T) is...
