Check your ground wire, make sure it's not loose. I had that happen to me a couple times, the amp turns on but no sound.

So what should I do if they are fighting?

Pretty sure they are connected to each other, he has power wire from front connected to back battery, the back battery connected to the amp and then has it grounded.
