    adjusting EQ's on pioneer P8mp

Advantages are more accurate frequency adjustments to help create the the frequency response you are looking for. Being able to raise or lower right at or all around a given frequency gives you more flexiblity. A cars interior can be an acoustical nightmare. Sometimes it takes a lot of tuning...

    adjusting EQ's on pioneer P8mp

"Q Factor" refers to how NARROW or WIDE the boost/cut curve is at a particular frequency. 2W will boost/cut more above and below a frequency. 2N will boost/cut more closely to the EQ frequency, and not so much above and below. These adjustments are helpful in fine tuning your sound. Experiment...

    VERY CHEAP - AWESOME DEAL - 480x1@4!!

Also look at the HA1000 at zeb.com. $79.99 Same power just THD It adds a subsonic filter adj from 20-50Hz. Great for ported applications. It's keeping my little S8L7 loud and clear.

    pioneer 860MP sub output control

While you are on the screen where you adjust the LP freq, use the up and down on the multi-function knob (right knob). You should be able to adjust the level up or down. I am using 80Hz with an 18db slope for my S8L7.

    Kicker S8L7 Tuning Freq?

What freq(Hz) would be optimal for SPL/SQ? Kicker says about 45Hz for the S8L7. I was thinking of going a bit lower. Say around 38Hz. I have never had an 8 before. Thanks

    Home Audio Setup

Another amp would work good. If you have an additional receiver layin' around, use it before you go buy anything. That's what I would do.

    Home Audio Setup

As long as your receiver can handle the load, some additional speakers would be a good idea. You could spread them out so the sound is nice and loud all over the house. Not just super loud in one room.

    Equalizers?? I need some clarification..

I have an in-dash 1/2 DIN EQ/Pre-Amp. The PPI PAR-245 5-Bands of EQ. Each band has a selectable freq. The sub freq's to choose from are 30,34,36,38,40,44,46,50,52,58,66Hz That should be enough freq choices to tame any nasty peaks in your freq response. It also has Q values to pick from...

    tinted windows

Did the cop use a device to measure the opacity of the tint(%). It's sucks but the best thing to do is to remove the illegal tint. You don't want to start a war with the window tint super cop. You know he's gonna have his eye out for you.

    Fire it up? Or down?

I have an extended cab pickup also. I have tried facing subs up, down, forward and backward. I couldn't tell any difference in sound. Trial and error. Try different directions and see what sounds best. Good Luck!

    tuning a box to 35?

For 4.75 cu ft. tuned @35Hz Use 3 3" diameter ports that are 7.6" long. or Use 4 3" diameter ports that are 11" long. (more port area = less noise)

    Looking for 5x7s, any suggestions?

I will second the Infinity Reference 5x7's. I have some in a 96 Ranger and they do a great job. The Infinity Reference 6800cs $108 would sound very nice up front. The 6800cs is a 5x7/6x8" component set. Which means you can mount the tweeter higher up for better imaging. You could put it in...

need help with placement of subs

I'm driving a Ranger Extended Cab also. I've always put the subs in the Rear Cab. There's no way you could put any subs under the seats of my Ranger. There's NO room for a sub. Maybe an amp would fit. What sub do you plan on using? And how many?
