    need some help

Im putting a system in a 97 ford ranger regular cab..Due to the very minimal space behind the seats it doesn't appear using a subwoofer insider of a box is going to be an option for me...Most boxes and subs fitted to this model year require moving the seat forward by a couple of notches and due...

New to car audio. Opinions on my Equipment?

Consider the $75.00 and up range to give a pretty good entry level sound stage up front...Kicker and fosgate are considered maybe just mehhh sounding ...If the $120 range isnt too much i would maybe look into some Polk DB 6501 components or some Infinity reference models...Dont forget though...

Proper order when upgrading audio system?

If you arent opposed to a single din i would get the Pioneer DEH-80PRS...that has a built in 3 way active cross over built in and 13bd eq...Thats an insane radio for the price..its one model under pioneers flagship model thats $1200.

    When to upgrade alternator?

There are 2 different methods of determining requirements of the alternator..one uses the efficiency of an amp (which is the more accurate method). My answer to the question is how ever much power you have, always leave as much headroom as possible with any system...Alternators work extremely...

Looking for best bang for buck at this point please

The problem with factory radios is they have pre determined x over curves based on volume..Ill bet when the volume is low you hear the bass nicely then once close to half volume it disappears and the mids and highs get pretty loud and crappy sounding up front....I would go with the Audiocontrol...

Need advice: use amp or not?

Thats quite a bit of power for 25w rms speakers...that amp is 125rms into 4 ohms and 190w rms into 2 ohms...The good news is you can wire it the easy way which would be in parallel..The left positive from the amp to the left positive front speaker, then run another wire from the left speaker...

New to car audio. Opinions on my Equipment?

If you arent opposed to using component speakers, i would recommend them for the front at minimum...Pioneer makes some of the best coaxials around with the TS-D series but, its hard to beat components on average...Sound quality is improved greatly with components...I would also consider using an...

Proper order when upgrading audio system?

As long as the high pass and low pass filters are adjustable and not just a pre set like a passive x over would be, i dont see why not. All you would need are the amps in that case instead of a separate active 3 way....that HU seems to have alot of built in tuning features..i like the 13 band...

Proper order when upgrading audio system?

If your just running a front stage with 2 way passive x overs, a 4 channel amp would be fine..2 channels to the front and bridge the rear for a sub...your just limited to sub RMS power with most 4 channel amps. If you want to run an active x over (which is far superior sound quality and tuning...

The Kenwood Excelon KDC- X597 isn't a decent head unit?????..I looked at the radios from $50.00 all the way up to over 200 just to see what you can get for the money. Found a pioneer and a kenwood with 3 sets of pre outs @4v for 130 or less...the rest were 2v 2.5v and didn't have 3 sets of pre...

I guess im raising my budget limit to more...Im thinking all sound ordnance speakers and amps. Component speakers front and rear, sub/box,4channel amp for the main speakers and amp for the subs with a kenwood head unit...I cant find anything to beat a 3yr warranty parts and labor or better...

[BMW E34] Newbie needs advice on SQ setup

From what ive learned the head unit is one of if not the most important component for sound improvement..The frequencies the factory unit puts out is not ideal for sound quality in general.. The next step is definitely speakers to replace the factory ones,,Even if just a set of low to mid...

    New cars and mid bass?

have to agree with the sound deadening..I had a 87 mustang and had I guess decent componants overall as a system and it sounded horrible until I sealed off the doors and trunk...It definitely makes your system louder inside the vehicle...You can buy some cheaper stuff from the hardware store to...

The box sub combo im looking at is tuned and only $79.00 (12"sub/Ported box) ..they make the box to fit the speaker requirements..Not a random prefab box. The head unit im wanting has 3 sets of pre outs and the higher 4volt outputs for the amp(s) $129.00 (Cleaner sound and ease of install) I...
