I got it to work, I was plugging in the subwoofer while the amp had power. I unhooked the remote turn on lead, then all speakers plugged in, then remote turn on lead. All good!

New system I built. Kenwood X802-5 hooked up to 4 4 ohm component speakers and 2 JL Audio 4 ohm SVC subs. I have the subs wired in parallel to present a 2 ohm load to the amp which handles 2 ohms. No power light on the amp, checked power and remote on wires, both have 12 V. Ground is solid. I...
