Well from what others have said about the glass being to thin. Its wasn't really shown but the glass was reinforced and is approx 1/4 thick. Well more than enough glass for structure. But you also have to remember that this is sitting into the rim of the tire. The glass isn't going anywhere as...

BTW... I forgot to mention the tie down was removed from the stock location and re mounted with a new threaded line up though the center of the box and the rim of the tire. All held down by a wing nut... So it doesn't move.... Very nice and easy to remove for track days.
