    ground cable length

I need to ground two amps. I plan on running an 8 ga from each amp's ground terminal to a distribution block, and from there, a 4 gauge to a back seat bolt. Unfortunately, this means at least 4 feet or so from each amp to the final grounding spot. Is that too long? I've heard people talk about...

    amp won't turn on randomly

I have a profile ap700m 350 watt monoblock amp running a JL 10w3. I was toying around with a shelf to put the amp on so I unwired it. When I wired it back up, it won't turn on. None of the lights turn on (power or protection). The only thing I could think of would be when I was removing the...

Tell me if theres anything I'm doing wrong in this setup

So I should run the rca cables from the HU to the 4 channel and from the 4 channel to the mono?

Tell me if theres anything I'm doing wrong in this setup

Thanks for the quick replies, everyone. I guess it wouldn't hurt to fuse after the distro block. I only have one set of outputs on the HU. http://www.caraudiohelp.com/newsletter/multiple_amplifiers.htm This source says if you don't have two outputs, the next best thing is to run them in line.

Tell me if theres anything I'm doing wrong in this setup

I'll have a 4 gauge power wire running from the battery to the trunk where a distribution block will be located. There will be an 70 or 80 amp inline fuse near the battery. From there, two 8 gauge wires will power a 200 watt 4 channel amp (25 amp fuse) and a 350 watt mono amp (2x20 amp fuse)...

    $3200 Budget

Correct me if I'm wrong but... Unless he got his license suspended, and is just getting it back, it's usually like 16 year olds who are just getting their licenses. You're telling me that your 16 year old cousin is putting over three grand into a car audio system? Oh my lord, I need rich friends.

help me find some info on these bishes?

I'm almost positive it's a subwoofer. Subwoofers are speakers designed to produce very low frequencies. You can read more about them here. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Subwoofer

    w7 & W6 used at same time??

I was kind of wondering the same thing. Like could you use a 15" to get those deep rumbling lows and like 2 8"s to get the higher punchier bass?

    10w3v2 in a ported box

If I were to do that, I'd have to upgrade my wiring, build a new box, and get a new amp. Not an option. Anyone else?

    10w3v2 in a ported box

Right now I have a 10w3 in a sealed box, and it adds some low end, but I want it just a little bit louder. I know it's an SQ sub, but do you think it would be a good idea to sacrifice a little sq for some more output, and build a ported box for it?
